Alleged Plagiarizer Files DMCA Takedown Notice Against Authors of Original Content

Arstechnica.com reported last week about a seemingly brazen scheme to plagiarize content from a blog and then use a DMCA takedown notice to remove the real authors' content from their own blog. According to the article, a small site in India apparently copied the content from the authors' blog – hosted on WordPress – and then sent a takedown notice to WordPress requesting that the infringing material be removed from the original authors' blog. The takedown is particularly noteworthy because the authors' blog, The Retraction Watch, focuses on exposing fraud in medical research and reporting.
