Cyber Monday Gets ICEd

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (also known as ICE) cracked down on websites illegally selling counterfeit merchandise online this week during its third annual Project Cyber Monday. In connection with its crackdown, ICE seized 132 domains which were selling counterfeit goods to customers as part of the holiday shopping season. The seized domain names are now in the custody of the governments involved in the operations. Visitors to the seized websites will now find a banner that notifies them of the seizure and educates them about the federal crime of willful copyright infringement.
