Why Do I Need a Privacy Policy?

If you operate a website, mobile application or software program, you need an agreement to disclose what information you gather from users and how you will use that information.  This policy is called a “Privacy Policy”.

Over the years, we have helped numerous Internet businesses with the preparation of their Privacy Policy, and in many cases can offer Flat Fee Privacy Policy creation services.

The Importance of a Privacy Policy for Your Website

A Privacy Policy will outline the means by which you collect data and information from users – both directly as well as electronically via cookies, beacons, etc.  A Privacy Policy must comply with ever-changing laws and regulations across a number of legal jurisdictions.  Therefore, it is important to consult with attorneys experienced in drafting privacy policies to help ensure the inclusion of legal provisions required for your particular situation.

Don’t Fall For DIY, Free, or Generic Online Forms

Some companies try to minimize expenses by copying privacy policy documents found online or using cheap online services and hope they have done things correctly. The danger with cookie-cutter forms or “do it yourself” is that, if a Privacy Policy isn’t comprehensive and reflect your actual operations, it may not adequately protect your interests nor comply with applicable law.

What to Expect

For $1,500 we will;

  • Contact you to gather information about the project;

  • Prepare a draft Privacy Policy; and

  • Answer questions and make minor revisions to the initial draft to get you closer to a final version.
